Waiting for home since

Background Story
Bleue was kept by a local breeder for 7 years, all she did was getting pregnant, delivering, and nursing kittens that you would see in those pet shops in Causeway Bay and Mongkok. Kittens are taken away from Bleue as soon as they started weaning. Her world was nothing beyond a 2” x 2” cage. There she was given food and water, and that’s all she had. When her “productivity” started coming down in the last few litters, and the breeder declared that she’s of no use, soon she was chucked out with her cage and surroundered. We said it’s indeed lucky for her because her real life finally started since then. She arrived at our foster, where she was cleaned, fed, and most important of all, loved and cared for. Everything was new to her - soft bed, nutritious food, cat toys and snacks. Bleue has the cutest ‘grumpy’ face ever with her wonky tooth poking out, overall she is in good health. Now Bleue is a super happy, confident and loving lady, she will make the perfect pet for any families. 💕💕💕

We are here to help!
Fill out the cat adopt/foster form and we will match the perfect one for you based on your lifestyle and needs.
To start the process, you will be asked to fill in an online questionnaire for us to assess your conditions whether you would be a good fit. These include:
We offer the opportunity for a trial that can go up to 2 weeks before you decide to adopt. This is to ensure that you and the cat are the best possible match!
We do not make any profit out of animal rescues; cat adoption cost ranges from HKD1,500 to HKD2,500 on average to cover basic vaccinations and medical costs prior to the adoption.
In many cases, when you decide to adopt a cat, you may have some input or preference in selecting the specific cat you want to care for. We often consider factors like your living situation, experience, and the needs of the animal when matching you with a cat.
Trial adoption is a 2-week process that allows prospective pet owners to foster an animal for a predetermined period before making a final decision about adoption. This practice is designed to ensure the best possible match between the animal and the adopter, improving the chances of a successful, permanent adoption.
Don’t worry! We will provide the necessities including food bowls, cages and toys. Otherwise, we will also provide guidance on what to get from the pet shops.
After the 2-week trial if any, the adoption process is mainly about the paperwork including signing the adoption form and paying the adoption fees.
If you have questions or need support after adopting a pet, we are readily available to provide guidance and assistance. We value open communications, so seek help when needed to ensure the well-being of the animal in your care.

Fostering is when you provide a temporary home for our cat(s) for a period of time, while getting the cat ready to integrate into society and up for adoption.
Short answer: lots of love!
But there are also other key duties:
HKPAWS often cover veterinary costs, food, food bowls, litter box and toys, while you may need to provide other supplies.

We will conduct thorough assessments including home visits and trials to make sure the foster and your pets get along. Introductions and proper precautions are typically recommended.
Fostering a cat typically requires a longer time commitment than just a few days, as animals need stability and time to adjust to a new environment. If you have only a few days of holidays, it might be challenging to provide the necessary care and attention a foster pet requires. Consider other ways to support animal welfare, such as volunteering at Bow Wow Inn or cat house.
The duration of fostering can vary from a few weeks to several months, depending on factors like the cat's needs, age, temperament, and how long it takes for the dog/cat to be rehomed. It's essential to discuss the expected duration with us before committing to a foster placement.
We very much appreciate your willingness to help with the rehoming process of the foster cat, by either spreading the words or considering adopting the cat yourself! The specific arrangements can vary, so it's best to discuss your preferences and bring it forward with us as the final decision resides with HKPAWS.
If you notice any concerning symptoms or behaviors in the foster, contact us for guidance on how to address the issue promptly.
We're seeing more abandoned pets in HK - and with your support, we will never turn them away.
Your donation will be 100% contributed to the animals waiting for home, which includes food, health check, surgeries and more!
If you love pets and would like to give up some of your time to help those in need, we’ve got some amazing volunteering opportunities for you!
Join our team of volunteers on rescue mission or skill-based, there are plenty to do.
